Welcome back to MOC Monday, though I have spent most of my LEGO time this week with sorting parts and re-building old sets, I did manage a small MOC of a vehicle for my sig fig.
I'll start off with the sig fig himself (myself?) I never got around to making a LEGO version of myself, so I thought it was time..
Version 1 had homer Simpson legs and arms, a plain white Torso, a bearded face from my spares, and topped off with a hair piece from a bootleg Reed Richards I had a duplicate of. My grey isn't quite as bad as my minifig just yet.
Here is my mini-me arriving in the city on the bus, I have swapped the torso out for the Letterman style jacket worn by Jack from the hidden side. Although a plain white tee is more representative of me, I prefer the jacket look for now.
After being in the city for a few days, I decided my guy needed a car.
Confession time, I've never been much of a car guy. I know the Speed Champions have introduced a ton of specialty car parts, but I have only 2 of them in my collection and I didn't want to cannibalize them for parts.
Last year I picked up Set 60007 which came with this nifty little Roadster..
So I decided, given my limited part availability to base my design around this. So I dug out the instructions, and this is what I came up with..
Even with the limited piece count of the original design, I was still nowhere near to being able to making a direct copy, this gave me the opportunity to get creative however, and I think the finished design is actually really good.
The dark grey arches and plate are the only part I'm not happy with, the plate Is simple enough to swap out, but my only wheel arch choices are blue, white or dark grey.. I will likely order some yellow ones next time I do a bricklink order.
So there we have it, not only do have my own LEGO version of myself, but he now has a pretty cool LEGO city style ride to get around town.
