Quick look - 'The Boys' minifigs - Kopf

Never meet your Heroes..

'The Boys' on Amazon Prime video (based on the comic book series by Garth Ennis & Darick Robertson) was one of the surprise streaming hits of the year, and with good reason.

Darkly funny, and relentlessly brutal. This is a very different take on the Superhero genre. While we wait for season 2 to come around, we can now add the twisted and egotistical 'Heroes' featured in the series to our LEGO cities, courtesy of prominent minifig manufacturer Kopf.

There are currently seven characters in this line, of which I purchased 6. I didn't bother with Translucent initially as he looked pretty bland. However, after seeing the quality of the others. He's been added to my next purchase.

So let's take a look at the other 6 of 'The Seven'

First is up the leader of 'The Seven'. Homelander himself. It's only fitting that the Justice League analogs get their own Superman. Homelander comes in his mostly blue and red costume, with gold highlights. He has red gloves, a single sided serious face print and light brown hair piece. All of the figs in this set only have single sided heads and I really feel Homelander especially could have done with an alternate 'laser eyes' angry face

Printing on all of these minifigs is of excellent quality, we get printing on front, back and sides and it's incredibly detailed. You can see the texture of the costume. 2 of the newer style flick launchers in trans red are included as accessories. The cape is thicker than usual and actually appears to be 2 pieces of fabric stuck together. Red for the lining and the US Flag for the back. Good stuff.

Next up is the A-Train, the self obsessed Speedster who is more obsessed with sponsorship deals than actually helping people, his light blue costume is again, a full cover print with silver highlights, his head print features goggle covered eyes and he has a black hair print that is a little bit bigger than it should be to be show accurate.

Again we get the launchers but this time in trans blue. You can see the print detail in the pic of the back of A-Train. The costume looks amazing.

The version of Queen Maeve in the show is actually a far more heroic character than her original comic book incarnation. The (obviously Wonder Woman inspired) designed translates well to minifig form, We get the all over armor print in brown and silver, including the headband printed on the head piece and a brown hair piece.

The shape of the hair piece limits the movement of the head when it's attached but that's the only negative to another excellent quality minifig. Maeve is the only one in this line that doesn't have the flick launchers, she gets a silver sword for her accessory instead.

The silent vigilante known as Black Noir is next up, as the name suggests, this guy likes black (Remind you of another hero with a big LEGO prescence?)  His mostly black costume features silver printed body armor on front, back and sides. his head is completely covered, concealing his identity (Still not revealed in the show) and he has printed goggles.

These minifigs are all great but I would have liked a bit more variety in the accessories, again we get the handheld launchers, Black Noir's are in trans dark grey.

The Deep is the Aquaman analog of the group, again print quality is excellent on this costume and is as accurate to the show as we can expect in a minifig. Deep has a green and gold outfit, including gold boots and gloves and a brown hair piece. Played brilliantly by a stubbled Chase Crawford in the show, I think the beard lets the minifig down, it seems too dark for me and I want to try and substitute it for a more a more accurate stubbled head piece from my spares.

Other than the beard, there is nothing else to complain about here. Again we get more of those launchers, this time in trans blue.

Last but not least is Starlight. The newest member of the Seven and one of our POV characters in the show, the rookie Hero is someone who actually wants to do good. Her minifig is her first costume from the show and is beautifully printed in white and yellow with small light grey circle prints all over. We get star motif's on the chest, arms and boots.

Starlight's white cape features a yellow trim and a patterned print of circles and stars. she has a blonde hair piece and her flick launchers are trans yellow.

For Chinese made unofficial products. The detailing on all these is incredible. Kopf are fast becoming my first choice for minifigs due to their unique character selection, excellent quality and bargain price. As you can tell I was incredibly happy with my purchase and I hope kopf continue with this line and we get some of the 'good' guys from the show. I need my Billy Butcher minifig!

I purchased these minifigs from the Official Kopf Store on aliexpress and they arrived in just under 2 weeks.
