Soundwave: Superior
Today I'm just posting a quick update to show you guys this little bot that arrived from China today.
From a company known as Jisi, this is done in the style of LEGO's brickheadz. I'm not certain if the size is the same as I don't currently own any... They aren't usually my thing, but I love Transformers and Soundwave is my favourite character from that franchise so I had to grab this one.
Comprising of 114 parts and 23 building steps, The finished model is a great SD rendition of the Decepticon communications officer.
The colours are a perfect match to his G1 incarnation and his distinctive face makes him instantly recognisable.
Piece quality and clutch is absolutely fantastic, this is as close to LEGO as I've come across from another manufacturer and these parts feel even better than some of my Lepin sets.

In terms of legality, there is nothing in this set that is copyright infringing, the Transformers collecting scene is rife with 3rd party manufacturers, and these seem to be tolerated by Hasbro/Takara as long as the Autobot and Decepticon logo aren't used.
Given the surprising quality of this guy and the very reasonable price, I will likely pick up at least one or 2 more of my favourites. Even if you're not a Transformers fan, these are pretty cheap just for parts packs.
